Job summary

Medical Protection Society is seeking an experienced Group Data Protection Officer to lead our global privacy agenda and shape strategy across international jurisdictions. You will influence senior leaders, ensure regulatory compliance, and embed privacy into transformation initiatives and AI adoption.

You will operate at a strategic level, engaging regulators and guiding governance models while maintaining strong relationships with executives and the board.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Data Protection Officer in a large, complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and international data protection frameworks.
• Experience engaging with regulators and managing regulatory relationships.
• Track record of influencing Executive and Board-level stakeholders.
• Experience designing and embedding strategic privacy governance models.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent expert advice to the Executive, Council and senior leaders across multiple jurisdictions.
• Shape and deliver the global data protection strategy, embedding privacy into business transformation and AI adoption.
• Balance commercial objectives with regulatory requirements, building credibility with senior stakeholders.
• Support informed, risk-based decision making across the organisation.
