Job summary

Canopius is seeking a senior Data Protection / Compliance professional to support the Group Head of Compliance and DPO in embedding the Group's privacy framework across jurisdictions. The role involves risk-based guidance, DPIAs, breach investigations, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen privacy controls.

The position may be offered as a permanent role or a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, with responsibilities and capabilities aligned for both options.

Qualifications

• Extensive practical experience in data protection with a recognised qualification.
• Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical guidance.
• Experience delivering training to stakeholders at different levels.
• Strong written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the DPO with compliance monitoring and group policies.
• Assist with maintaining ROPA and data governance initiatives.
• Review privacy notices and cookie consent management.
• Contribute to DPIAs with risk mitigation actions.
• Handle data subject rights requests and data protection complaints.
• Assist with investigations of personal data breaches.
• Contribute to privacy training across Canopius.
• Collaborate with regional teams to implement privacy standards.
