Job summary

Medal.tv is seeking a seasoned Global Controller to own US accounting, reporting, and compliance end-to-end. The role focuses on US GAAP, multi-entity tax, audits, and building a scalable, AI-enhanced finance function in a fast-moving startup.

You will lead month-end close, coordinate auditors, and automate finance processes across accounting, payroll, and reporting, enabling strategic decision-making with transparent dashboards.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of experience including Big 4 / public accounting
• Deep US GAAP and financial-statement expertise
• Hands-on US + international tax across multi-entity structures and complex reconciliations

• As Global Controller, you’ll own US accounting, reporting, and compliance end-to-end - from day-to-day bookkeeping to technical GAAP calls, tax filings, audits, and the processes that make us more efficient every quarter
• You’ll move fluidly between living in the ledgers, leading month-end close, automating workflows, and coordinating auditors across multiple jurisdictions. We need insane attention to detail, mastery of US GAAP, and strong US + international tax knowledge - someone who raises the bar on quality while helping us move fast

Bonus: you’ve stood up a finance function from scratchYou own payroll compliance - payroll taxes, filings, and the PEO/provider relationshipYou build and automate scalable finance processes across accounting, billing, payroll, and reporting - an AI-native operator who uses modern AI tooling to kill manual work and error risk, excited to build a lean, heavily automated finance functionYou own the general ledger and the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in US GAAP - revenue recognition, accruals, capitalization, and reconciliations - fast and precise, with the policies and internal controls to back itYou bring 10-15 years including Big 4 / public accounting, deep US GAAP and financial-statement expertise, and hands-on US + international tax across multi-entity structures and complex reconciliationsYou run US federal and state corporate tax plus international tax - quarterly estimates, filings, cross-border entity structures, and transfer pricing - coordinating external advisors and staying ahead of regulatory changeYou lead audits and reporting - annual financial statements, audit prep, investor updates and due diligence, plus the management dashboards and variance analyses behind strategic decisions
