Labour Enterprise, R&T & Corporate Services), and Manufacturing Support (inc. Calibration, consumables, and machine spares).

Your leadership will directly support the success of the UK’s nuclear submarine programme, working closely with stakeholders to shape and execute strategic supply chain solutions. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing team, drive supplier excellence, and make a real impact in a world-class engineering environment.

Rolls-Royce is one of the most enduring and iconic brands in the world, with over a century of innovation. We design, build, and service systems that provide critical power where safety and reliability are paramount.

We are proud to be a force for progress, powering, protecting, and connecting people everywhere.

We want to ensure that the excellence and ingenuity that has shaped our history continue into our future, and we need people like you to join us on this journey.

This role sits within Rolls-Royce Submarines, where we design, build, and support nuclear power plants that power the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet, delivering critical capabilities that protect national security.

We’ll provide an environment of caring and belonging where you can be yourself. An inclusive, innovative culture that invests in you, offers a broad range of opportunities for career growth, and allows you to make a difference.

Alongside a competitive salary, benefits include hybrid working, bonus opportunities, employee discounts, and access to world-class training and development resources.

What we offer

We offer excellent development opportunities, a competitive salary, and exceptional benefits including bonus, employee support assistance, and discounts.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working allows you to balance time between the office, home, or remote locations. This is a flexible, locally managed arrangement. Generally, attendance at the workplace is expected about three days per week for collaboration and specific activities.

What you will be doing

As Global Commodity Manager, you’ll lead sourcing and supplier management activities across key commodities, ensuring delivery of goods and services critical to our operations. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, lead a dedicated team, and drive supply chain excellence in quality, cost, and delivery.

  • Capture stakeholder requirements and translate them into clear, actionable supply chain strategies.
  • Plan and execute strategic sourcing activities, including tenders, supplier selection, and contract awards.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a team of buyers and planners to deliver high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and cost targets are achieved.
  • Drive governance across procurement activities, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and operational excellence.

What we’re looking for

At Rolls-Royce, safety, integrity, simplicity, and making a difference guide us. We seek a proactive and experienced Global Commodity Manager capable of leading teams, building stakeholder relationships, and delivering strategic sourcing in a complex, fast-paced environment.

  • Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, and team leadership within large, regulated organizations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with sourcing experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
  • Experience driving supplier performance across quality, cost, delivery, and compliance.
  • Professional procurement qualifications (e.g., CIPS) or equivalent experience, focusing on continuous improvement and governance is preferred.
