Job summary

Taylor Root is seeking an experienced legal professional to provide strategic guidance across its commodity trading and shipping operations. You will advise on complex, cross-border transactions in a fast-paced, international environment, partnering with commercial teams.

The role requires 6+ PQE with in-house commodity experience, strong drafting skills, and familiarity with Incoterms and trade finance structures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6+ PQE common law qualified lawyer, preferably with in-house experience in commodity trading.
• Experience in commodity trading, shipping or trade finance.
• Strong negotiation and drafting experience for cross-border trading agreements.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to commodity trading and shipping businesses aligned with strategy and values.
• Navigate governance requirements and support stakeholders efficiently.
• Collaborate with the wider group legal function to deliver pragmatic advice.
• Manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including panel firms.
