Overview of the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with wealth managers, private banks, asset managers, and family offices across the UK, reporting to the Head of UK Wealth Distribution.
The role offers an opportunity to provide a differentiated product set to the UK wealth market centered around private assets. Private assets are forecasted to play an increasingly important role in wealth clients' portfolios. Nuveen has a tier 1 alternatives platform spanning Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Estate, and unique asset classes such as Farmland and Timberland.
Nuveen is a leading global manager in alternatives, managing over $300bn of assets, with extensive experience in private wealth asset management. The candidate will be involved in expanding and refining this offering for the UK market.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the Head of UK Wealth Distribution on sales strategies with local intermediaries.
- Providing dedicated client coverage to drive growth in private assets.
- Engaging with product development on client demands related to private assets.
- Building and nurturing relationships with strategic clients and key contacts.
- Managing client relationships, highlighting key funds/strategies, and identifying new partnership opportunities.
- Maintaining client contact records and pipeline updates on Salesforce.
- Guiding and mentoring junior team members.
- Participating in sales meetings, strategy planning, and team development.
- Traveling within the UK to support distribution efforts, client events, and education.
Qualifications / Skills / Qualities:
- Highly self-motivated with a passion for building a business.
- Excellent listening and teamwork skills.
- Approximately 10 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 4 years in business development within the UK.
- Proven track record in managing client relationships and developing networks in UK distribution.
- Deep understanding of market trends, competitors, products, and UK infrastructure.
- Fluent in discussing private assets and capable of solving client problems independently.
- Knowledge of UK client types and business models for strategic partnerships.
- Action-oriented, accountable, and driven with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and execute sales strategies effectively.
- High integrity, trust, and client-centric approach.
- Strong academic background, undergraduate degree required; professional qualifications like IMC or CFA preferred.
