This is an exciting opportunity to join a market-leading, truly global company with diverse operations.

They seek an experienced Category Manager with Marine industry experience—whether in Manufacturing, Engineering, New Vessels, or MRO—focused on managing large, complex projects.

The group is undergoing a significant transformation, expanding its functions with ongoing opportunities for progression.

Role and responsibilities:

• Report to the Head of Global Procurement - Engineering, within a sizable team
• Develop, design, and improve category strategies
• Conduct end-to-end sourcing within designated spend areas using strategic approaches
• Collaborate with senior business leaders to develop category strategies and plans
• Advise stakeholders on market trends, innovations, and supplier market insights
• Manage complex projects, both regulated and unregulated
• Ensure strategic procurement delivers optimal commercial value

Experience required:

• Extensive Marine Industry experience—Defense, Commercial, or Dry Dock
• Proven strategic category management in large, complex organizations
• Experience with Engineering Services or MRO categories in relevant industries
• Track record of delivering savings in comparable organizations
• Ability to engage, negotiate, and influence senior stakeholders up to Board level
• Strong stakeholder management skills with adaptable approaches
• Experience working in large, cross-functional procurement teams
• MCIPS qualification preferred but not essential
