Job summary

Schneider Electric in the United Kingdom is seeking a GEC Engineering Manager to drive the strategic transformation of the engineering function within the Digital Buildings systems & project business. The aim is to improve competitiveness and margins by coordinating with the Global Engineering Centre for BMS in India and across countries.

You will lead a multi-cultural team, unlock improvements, and provide proactive support.

Qualifications

Experience working with global teams across nationalities and cultures.
Self-driven and passionate about efficiency and growth.
Strong technical, business and financial acumen.
Understanding of tendering, estimating and cost management for BMS hardware, software and graphics.
Experience in pre-sales activities and project execution environments.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to influence at engineer, manager and leadership levels.
Able to implement new initiatives.
Experience in change management and transformation.
Experience in PMO-type roles or as Engineering Manager of BMS systems.
BMS industry competence and proven track record.
PMP Certification

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the GEC Leader and country DB management to grow offshore hardware design, software and graphics engineering.
Identify and engage country leadership to onboard GEC delivery for identified projects.
Create clear sales opportunities for GEC support and assist tendering with costing and saving plans.
Forecast GEC hours monthly and yearly by region based on live backlog.
Build labour savings forecasts and report savings to country leadership.
Provide programme management for all GEC projects in Europe & France including progress reporting and invoicing.
Monitor GEC estimation requests ensuring timely costs for engineering resources.
Manage quality processes and ensure adherence to country standards; capture lessons learned.
Build and report KPI dashboards showing hours delivered, cost savings and forecast vs targets.
Agree yearly targets on delivered hours with country VPs.
