Job Description:

We pride ourselves in our resourcefulness and work on a variety of initiatives. On any given day, our work could include advising a company on a cross-border merger, structuring the initial public offering of a subsidiary, refinancing an outstanding bond, and more.

Our strategic objectives include:

  • To be the world’s preeminent investment bank – trusted advisor, financier, and risk manager for our clients on their most important transactions
  • Build long-term relationships with clients and bring them world-class execution by “delivering the firm” over time
  • Be the employer of choice for all career levels by providing a highly dynamic, meritocratic, diverse, and rewarding workplace

We are looking for an Associate to join our Investment Banking team in London and use their skills and ideas to make an impact on the success of Goldman Sachs.

The Real Estate, Lodging, Leisure, and Gaming group provides corporate clients across the coverage spectrum with advice, access to financing, and execution expertise across a wide range of investment banking products.

Role Responsibilities

Our Associates play an important role in developing and strengthening client relationships, participating on advisory teams, and in structuring and executing a full range of financial transactions. Responsibilities include creating and analyzing financial models, organizing and preparing client presentations, managing transaction processes, and assisting in structuring transactions. They gain exposure to the firm’s businesses and expand their industry knowledge, developing key analytical, communication, and marketing skills.

Associates develop financial models, perform company valuation analyses, and are involved in M&A transactions, fixed income, and equity issuances. They prepare presentations explaining industry trends, assess client situations, and recommend strategies to meet client goals. They coordinate teams of tax advisors, attorneys, and bankers, lead due diligence, and participate in legal negotiations. From maintaining client communication to structuring transactions, Associates are vital to Goldman Sachs’ banking team.

Associates also contribute to our apprenticeship culture through ongoing training, mentoring, and professional development of analysts and interns.

  • Minimum 3 years’ investment banking or equivalent experience
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • Exceptional work ethic, motivation, and attention to detail
  • Strong team orientation and ability to work effectively across regions
