Job summary

Vitae Financial Recruitment Ltd. in Royston, Hertfordshire, is seeking an Accounts Assistant on a 9-12 month fixed-term contract. The role is hybrid with 2 days in the office. You will support a global finance team across month-end close, fixed assets, intercompany and VAT activities.

You should have 2+ years of accounting experience, strong Excel (XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables) and experience with multiple currencies. Excellent analytical and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills: XLOOKUP, SUMIFS and pivot tables.
• Experience with multiple currencies and international finance.

Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close including journals for fixed assets, accruals, prepayments and intercompany.
• Keep fixed asset registers accurate: additions, disposals, depreciation and GL reconciliation.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review Ireland VAT return and post related journals.
• Assist Accounting Manager to prepare statutory accounts.
• Prepare external audit packs and respond to auditor requests within agreed timeframes.
• Prepare SOX audit schedules and support the SOX audit team.
• Run intercompany recharge processes allocated to you.
• Complete monthly analysis of key P&L accounts.
• Document and monitor internal controls and procedures.
