Overview

We are looking for a Full Time Glasgow Life Assistant - Gym Instructor to join our Health & Fitness team.

Location: City-wide, with your main base discussed at interview. Contract: Permanent. Hours: 35 hours per week, full-time with a shift rotation over 7 days, including early starts, evenings and weekends between 5:30am and 10:30pm.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a variety of fitness programmes and activities to suit all members and support the members' fitness journey.
  • Promote health and fitness at local and citywide events.
  • Gather gym user information and oversee safety and behaviour of customers to prevent injury, misuse and damage to facilities and equipment.
  • Follow industry and government guidelines and protocols to provide a safe environment; assist with preparation and cleaning of the facility and maintenance of equipment.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to change and assist in delivering new activities to support Glasgow Club’s customer experience.

  • Level 2/3 Health and Fitness Qualification in Gym, Exercise and Fitness Knowledge
  • Good interpersonal skills to engage and motivate members
  • Fitness Coaching qualifications in group fitness activities or the flexibility to learn new skills
  • Ability to work confidently with fitness programming software such as My Wellness
  • Previous gym experience
