Overview

As a GIS Technician, you'll work collaboratively with both Council and contractors, combining your technical GIS expertise with operational insight to ensure street scene routes and asset data are accurate, efficient, and practical for both operational and client teams. Your day to day will include:

Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and update geospatial datasets, including service routes, using ArcGIS and related platforms
  • Manage and maintain asset and routing data for the street scene service network
  • Collaborate with operations management to ensure data aligns with service outcomes
  • Conduct spatial analysis to optimise service routes and identify efficiency opportunities
  • Produce analytical reports on operations, productivity, and service performance, with recommendations for ongoing system development
Qualifications
  • A working understanding and direct experience using GIS software (ArcMap/ArcGIS or equivalent) for updating and maintaining asset information and service function routes
  • Experience with routing software, ideally SmartSuite, including amending, adding and deleting routes development and (training will be made available through Route Software provided ISL)
  • Balance of technical accuracy with practical, operational awareness

Hours and salary
