Job summary

Forestry England North District is seeking a GIS Technician to help achieve its objectives by providing an accurate inventory of the district’s assets and offering technical GIS and data support to the wider forest district.

The post is based at Grizedale (LA22 0QJ) or Bedgebury offices and is a fixed-term appointment until 31 March 2029. It is 18.5 hours per week with a pro rata salary of £30,105.

As the GIS Technician, you will help Forestry England achieve its objectives by providing an accurate inventory of the districts assets, from which to base future operational planning, and provide technical support on GIS and data matters to the wider forest district to enable them to fulfil their roles within the Forest District.

The GIS Technician works closely with Forestry England colleagues across the Forest District to ensure data is collected and recorded correctly and integrity in datasets is maintained.

The postholder will be part of Forestry England North District based out of our Grizedale (LA22 0QJ) or Bellingham (NE48 2HP) offices.
