Job description

Build the world you want to live in with a career in the infrastructure property sector.

We are looking for a Geospatial Data Technician where your primary focus will be creating, managing, and integrating spatial and non-spatial datasets to help deliver property-based geospatial solutions as part of our growing geospatial team.

The role will focus on supporting GIS integrations and analysis for property digital twins used by our clients for sustainability monitoring, space utilization, planning, or asset and facilities management. You should have a passion for solution development that combines multisource geospatial datasets, including but not limited to measured survey data, drones, GIS, and BIM, supporting our 3D property digital twin SaaS platform and analysis services. Experience with the latest technologies like APIs, real-time IoT, building management system data, and AI LLMs is desirable.

With access to the full Esri Enterprise GIS platform, Safe FME, and the latest 2D and 3D datasets, we encourage innovation, lifelong learning, and ownership of geospatial analysis to help shape our world.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including flexible benefits like additional leave, health cash plans, and cycle-to-work schemes. We welcome applications from those seeking flexible or agile working arrangements, which can be discussed during the application process.

Main tasks:

  • Create, customize, and maintain ESRI ArcGIS-based applications using the Esri platform. Experience with cloud-native environments, including Azure cloud storage and headless technologies like Azure SQL Server.
  • Perform data manipulation, integration, aggregation, editing, management, attribution, and analysis tasks.
  • Digitize, geocode, and geo-reference data; support cartographic production.
  • Utilize Model Builder, FME Workbench, and Server to automate ETL and data pipelines.
  • Use SQL to create and modify spatial databases, tables, views, queries, and stored procedures in MSSQL and Postgres/PostGIS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical workflows and deliverables.
  • Stay updated with GIS trends and technologies, evaluate their applications, and recommend improvements.
  • This job description is not exhaustive; additional duties may be required to ensure team success.

What will it take to be successful?

Experience with Python and packages like ArcGIS Python API, Geopandas, Numpy, Matplotlib. Previous data management experience with cloud NoSQL databases, Azure Data Lakes/MS Fabric, and integrating spatial and non-spatial data. Knowledge of integrating geospatial services with Microsoft Power Platform is also beneficial. Understanding of open-source GIS cloud analytics and ETL processes and their integration with Esri would be advantageous.

This role suits a self-starter who can work independently, take initiative, and has excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects. We are open to candidates who may not meet all requirements but demonstrate passion and potential to develop into the role.
