GIS Solution Architect - 6 months - Hybrid (Warwick) - Inside IR35

Hamilton Barnes is seeking an experienced GIS Solution Architect to join a leading UK energy infrastructure organisation on an initial 6 month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a nationwide transformation programme that will shape the future of energy distribution across the UK.

This hybrid role requires 3 days per week onsite in Warwick, offering a collaborative and forward-thinking working environment. You'll be joining a cross-functional team of experts and have access to cutting-edge geospatial technology and enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain scalable GIS architecture frameworks aligned with enterprise goals and digital strategy.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to translate geospatial requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Lead the development of geospatial solutions and integration with enterprise systems (eg, asset management, cloud platforms).
• Evaluate and recommend GIS technologies and platforms for enterprise-wide adoption.
• Ensure best practices in data governance, integration, and security for all GIS implementations.
• Document architecture patterns, workflows, and technical standards.
• Provide technical oversight during the implementation phase to ensure adherence to architectural guidelines.
• Stay up to date with emerging GIS technologies and industry trends.

What You'll Ideally Bring:

• Proven experience as a GIS Architect or Enterprise GIS Consultant in large-scale, complex environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles (eg, TOGAF) and modern GIS platforms (preferably Esri stack).
• Experience designing and delivering cloud-based GIS solutions (Azure/AWS).
• Familiarity with systems integration - especially across utilities, asset management, and operational systems.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence solution direction.
• Knowledge of software life cycle management, vendor evaluation, and rollout planning.
• Relevant certifications (eg, TOGAF, Esri, Azure) are advantageous.

Contract Details:

• Duration: 6 months (Strong View to Extend)
• Location: Warwick - 3 Days per Week Onsite/Hybrid
• Daily Rate: £620 (Inside IR35)
• Start Date: ASAP
