Job description

Join a people-focused, mutual organisation committed to fair and accurate pricing
  • Lead the development and optimisation of General Insurance pricing models across both personal and commercial lines of business
  • Work from home up to 80% of the time, supporting a healthy work-life balance
About the role:

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to join our Loss Cost Modelling team within the Pricing Department.

This role involves leading the development, implementation, and testing of General Insurance pricing models for a defined product range. You will ensure these models meet business requirements and align with standards and strategies, with a focus on maintaining market competitiveness and pricing accuracy.

You will plan and define price models for specific market sectors, develop control cycles for testing and refreshing models, and collaborate closely with Underwriting to apply market insights to rates and rating logic.

The role also includes identifying and testing data to improve model performance and working with teams to deliver pricing objectives. If you have direct reports, you will lead and support them to achieve their potential.

About you:

We seek a professional with a strong background in general insurance pricing, experience in building and refining models, and proficiency in Emblem. You should have expert knowledge of your market sector, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Proactivity, independent working, and team collaboration are key. Leadership or mentoring experience is advantageous but not essential.

Key skills include resilience, continuous improvement mindset, innovation, constructive challenge, and customer focus.

We support an inclusive workplace and value diversity, encouraging applications from all backgrounds and providing adjustments during recruitment as needed.

Benefits and Rewards:

Our rewards include a salary between £50,000 and £70,000, annual bonus, pension scheme, holiday entitlement, family-friendly policies, discounts, health plans, volunteering opportunities, and other employee benefits.

Working at NFU Mutual:

We are a leading UK general insurance and financial services company with a proud history and numerous awards for workplace excellence. We foster a supportive culture that promotes growth, recognition, and community involvement.
