Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an Apprentice Healthcare Science Assistant to join the GI Physiology Department. The role includes preparing patients and equipment for GI investigations and supporting Clinical Scientists during procedures.

You will study for a Level 4 Healthcare Science Diploma, combining academic learning with hands-on clinical experience. The post involves supervised practice, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality, and participation in quality

Formación

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
• Basic understanding of patient care, confidentiality and safety.
• Additional relevant qualifications in science or healthcare.
• Previous experience in a healthcare, laboratory or patient-facing environment.
• Awareness of Healthcare Science within the NHS.

Responsabilidades

• Assisting with the preparation of patients, clinical environments and specialist equipment for GI Physiology investigations.
• Supporting Clinical Scientists and Specialist Practitioners during diagnostic procedures, ensuring patient comfort, dignity and safety.
• Assisting with the cleaning, preparation, maintenance and quality control of equipment.
• Supporting the accurate recording, handling and management of clinical data and patient information, maintaining confidentiality.
• Communicating effectively with patients, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Contributing to departmental quality assurance, infection prevention and safety activities.
• Participating in the Level 4 Healthcare Science Apprenticeship programme, completing academic requirements and assessments.
