We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Clinical Scientist / GI Physiologist to join our expanding GI Physiology department at Sandwell Health Campus.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification such as a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology or MSc in Clinical Science, and be appropriately accredited in the UK, e.g., as a Registered Clinical Scientist in GI Physiology or as an Accredited Independent Practitioner by the Association of GI Physiologists. Applications from newly qualified candidates are encouraged.
The role involves performing various gastrointestinal procedures including high-resolution oesophageal and anorectal manometry, ambulatory oesophageal pH Impedance monitoring, wireless pH monitoring, endoanal ultrasound, and hydrogen breath testing. Training will be provided for procedures outside current scope of practice.
The department is small but busy, working closely with endoscopy, gastroenterology, and general surgery teams to provide a wide range of investigations. The department is committed to staff development and acquiring new skills.
