Job Title: Graphics Editor - Sun Originals

An iconic, dynamic storyteller with a rich heritage and a global audience in the millions, The Sun is now focusing on an exciting, video-focused strategy to engage new audiences, putting video at the heart of The Sun’s journalism.

This is your chance to join a talented team at a pivotal moment, contributing to fast-paced, agenda-setting video output that drives traffic and revenue, as we redefine how a historic brand tells stories in the fast-paced digital world.

Your role:

As a Graphics Editor in Sun Originals, you will be a key player in crafting compelling proactive video content for our sport, showbiz, and Fabulous content strands that drive views and engagement across digital platforms. You will work closely with commissioning editors, producers, and the social team, ensuring that the longer-format stories we create captivate and engage our growing digital audience.

This is an opportunity for a passionate and talented graphics editor who can work quickly and bring creative flair to our content.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  1. Branding: Understand design briefs quickly and develop original identities for formats while being mindful of the master brand and sub-brands. Create a kit of parts for multiple formats.
  2. Motion: Bring format identities to life across on-screen graphics.
  3. Software Expertise: Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Cinema 4D, Blender, Photoshop, and familiarity with plugins like Trapcode, Newton, Motion Bro. Knowledge of Final Cut Pro is a plus.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with editors and video producers to align with editorial direction and team goals.

Qualifications and skills:

  1. Experience: Hands-on experience editing in a fast-paced TV or digital environment, with strong storytelling skills.
  2. Digital Native: Deep understanding of YouTube, social media, and online video engagement.
  3. Platform-Savvy: Skilled in designing for multiple formats and repurposing content efficiently.
  4. Fast & Agile: Ability to work quickly in a dynamic newsroom, managing multiple tasks across shifts.
