Job summary

Reed Engineeing & Manufacturing is seeking a GFM Driver to join a busy forging and heavy industrial operation in the UK. You will operate GFM forging equipment, measure materials with precision, and record production data to maintain quality and safety.

The role requires teamwork in a safety‑focused environment and may include overhead crane work, slinging, and learning new processes to support continuous improvement. A bonus of up to £5,700 is payable on top of the salary.

Responsibilities

• Operate GFM forging equipment in line with controlled programs.
• Identify and record materials to ensure full traceability.
• Measure materials and record production data accurately.
• Enter information into internal systems and process databases.
• Operate abrasive saws and use overhead cranes safely.
• Support additional GFM operations including slinging and loading furnaces.
• Perform pre-start equipment checks and maintain safety culture.
• Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities.

Reed Engineeing & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufactuirng company GFM Driver An excellent opportunity has arisen for a GFM Driver to join a busy manufacturing operation. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in forging, engineering, heavy manufacturing, steel, aerospace, or industrial production environments who are looking to develop their career within a safety-focused and quality-driven business. The Role Working as part of a multi-skilled GFM team, you will be responsible for the forging and processing of materials to strict technical specifications while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating GFM forging equipment in line with technically controlled programmes.
• Identifying and recording materials to maintain full quality traceability.
• Accurately measuring materials and recording production data.
• Entering information onto the internal compute and technical process computer systems.
• Operating abrasive saws to cut materials to specification.
• Using overhead cranes to move materials safely throughout the facility.
• Supporting additional GFM operations including slinging activities and loading/unloading furnaces.
• Carrying out pre-start equipment checks.
• Maintaining high housekeeping standards and participating in 5S improvement activities.
• Actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Engaging fully with company safety programmes and promoting a positive safety culture.
