A prestigious and academically focused Girls' School in Westminster is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic MFL Teacher specializing in German to join our successful Languages department. About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging German lessons across Key Stages 3-5, including GCSE and A-Level.
  • Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that incorporate authentic resources, cultural experiences, and interactive language practice.
  • Facilitate interactive language practice, encouraging students to develop fluency, accuracy, and confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing German.
  • Assess student progress through a variety of methods, including oral presentations, written assignments, and examinations, providing detailed and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the German curriculum, ensuring it aligns with current language teaching methodologies and cultural trends.
  • Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as German clubs, film screenings, cultural events, and trips abroad, to enhance student learning and promote cultural immersion.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Languages department and across the school to promote language learning and intercultural understanding.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong academic background in German or Modern Foreign Languages.
  • Extensive experience teaching German to GCSE and A-Level, with a proven track record of achieving excellent student results.
  • Native or near-native fluency in German and a deep understanding of German culture.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
