Job description

Job Title: German-Speaking Payroll Specialist (Remote, UK-Based)

Location: Remote (with occasional travel to Darlington, UK)

Contract Duration: August 2025 - December 2025

We are looking for a German-speaking Payroll Specialist to work for our large international client from August through to December 2025, initially on a temporary basis with the strong potential for extension or a permanent position.

This is a remote role with quarterly travel to the Darlington office and maybe rare travel to Germany if required.

Key Responsibilities:

Process payroll for German sites in compliance with local legislation and internal controls

*

Liaise with internal departments and external agencies on payroll-related matters

*

Respond to queries on tax, social security, illness, and insurance-including audits

*

Maintain accurate documentation and workflow procedures

*

Support and attend virtual customer meetings related to payroll in Germany

*

Drive and participate in process improvement initiatives

Requirements:

*

Fluent German (professional level)

*

Solid knowledge of German payroll legislation

*

Experience using SAP

*

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

*

Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and customer focus

Desirable Competencies:

Strong communication and collaboration skills

*

Understanding of payroll and HR compliance standards

*

Experience working in a shared services or multinational environment

You will be working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
