Job summary

Referment is a sustainability data and advisory business helping private-market investors and companies collect, analyse and act on carbon, ESG and risk information. This role focuses on German-speaking sustainability work across carbon accounting, climate risk, ESG reporting and regulatory projects.

You will support engagements from data collection through analysis to clear recommendations, working with investor and company clients and alongside product and customer teams.

Qualifications

• Professional fluency in German and English.
• 3–5 years' ESG or sustainability advisory experience.
• Hands-on Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse-gas accounting.
• Experience supporting SBTi target-setting or a comparable framework.
• Strong analytical ability with large datasets.
• Experience using or implementing a technology platform, SaaS product, AI solution or digital data service.
• Strong Excel capability and organisation across concurrent workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Support ESG engagements covering carbon accounting, climate risk, regulatory reporting, data quality and materiality.
• Help clients measure Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, assess financed emissions and develop decarbonisation plans.
• Support target-setting and submissions through SBTi or comparable frameworks.
• Analyse large portfolio and company datasets and translate findings into recommendations.
• Contribute to climate-risk assessments, scenario analysis, ESG due diligence and regulatory research.
• Guide clients through data collection and improvement of their ESG programmes.
• Work confidently with German-speaking clients in written and verbal communications.
• Share client needs with Product and Customer Success colleagues.
