Job Summary

Kiwa CMT is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Technician to join our team. This role primarily involves on-site work at various construction projects, with some duties based in our Derby laboratory. You will be responsible for conducting high-quality testing services mainly around the Midlands, ensuring compliance with industry standards. About the role

• Carry out geotechnical site and laboratory testing
• Maintaining competency/authorisation for the necessary range of test procedures
• Ensure equipment is in current calibration and pre-test checks are completed
• Ensure that test equipment is checked regularly and functioning correctly, and that any failures, defects or damage is reported
• Use and maintain equipment with all due care and ensure that weekly checks are carried out
• Ensure that all necessary test information, results and QC data are recorded in the manner required by current procedures
• Maintain good site working practice at all times

Do you have what it takes?

• Experience in geotechnical testing
• Knowledge and experience of site and lab-based geotechnical test methods
• The ability to support training and development of other technicians
• Ability to calibrate test equipment
• Motivated and focussed, with a positive outlook/approach
• Be able to work with a varied workload
• Communication is key for this role; you will be able to make an impact and work well within a team
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Hold a full UK driving licence
• Holds CSCS card

What can you expect from us in return?

• £25,389 - £32,800 per annum
• Generous Annual Leave – Starting at 25 days plus Bank Holidays, with the option to buy additional leave and increased entitlement with length of service
• 38.75 hours per week - Monday to Friday, primarily site-based with some work at the Derby laboratory. Opportunity for paid overtime, with occasional weekend work required
