Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Geotechnical Site Engineer to join an expanding team delivering geotechnical investigations across the UK. The role covers the full project lifecycle—from desk studies and site investigations to ground model development and reporting.

You will supervise site investigations, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery while supporting project budgeting and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of two years' experience within ground investigation or geotechnical engineering.
• Membership of a relevant professional institution is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Review project briefs and agree deliverables with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Provide geotechnical engineering support across a portfolio of projects, ensuring quality, programme and budget adherence.
• Prepare project specifications, schedules, budgets and programmes.
• Support commercial processes, including progress reporting and project financial management.
• Undertake feasibility studies, desk studies and site reconnaissance visits.
• Arrange, supervise and manage subcontractors and ground investigations nationwide.
• Log and sample soils per British Standards and produce reports.
