Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Geotechnical Estimator for a permanent role in London. You will prepare detailed cost estimates for tenders, review geotechnical documentation, and liaise with clients and suppliers to ensure competitive bids.

The successful candidate will have a geology or related degree, ground investigation experience, and the ability to work from a London site with hybrid working arrangements.

Are you looking for a step into a commercial environment in the Ground Investigation sector?

We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Estimator to join our growing team in London. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a specialist ground engineering contractor delivering a wide range of geotechnical and foundation solutions across London and the wider East Midlands.

As a Geotechnical Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction team, preparing accurate and competitive tenders for piling, ground improvement, retaining structures, and associated civil engineering works. You will review technical documentation, interpret site investigation data, and develop cost-effective methodologies that align with client requirements and project specifications.

What the role involves:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
• Reviewing geotechnical reports, drawings, and contract documentation
• Liaising with clients, consultants, and suppliers
• Conducting site visits where required
• Supporting handover to the delivery team upon contract award
