Job summary

JC Consulting in the North East of England is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist to join their multidisciplinary team. The role is based at the Gosforth office with travel to sites across the UK, focusing on pre-planning, post-planning, and field investigations.

You will lead ground investigations, supervise crews, prepare DTS/PRA/CMRA, monitor ground gas/water, and develop remediation strategies. A geo-sciences degree and UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in geo-sciences or equivalent with demonstrated experience.
• Experience as a geo-technical engineer or geologist on ground investigations.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and with clients.
• Ability to work under time pressure and balance priorities.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects of varying sizes through pre- and post-planning stages.
• Produce DTS, PRA, CMRA and ground investigation reports.
• Supervise ground investigation crews and log soils/rocks per BS 5930/EC7.
• Conduct ground gas and water monitoring and remediation strategies.
• Prepare geotechnical/geo-environmental assessments and appraisals.
