Geotechnical Engineer / Senior Geotechnical Engineer, Newcastle upon Tyne

We have an opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Geotechnical Engineer based in Newcastle upon Tyne to support our geotechnical projects both in the UK and internationally.

We are looking to expand our team to meet growing client demands in infrastructure (rail, highways, water) and energy sectors, including renewable energy, carbon capture & storage, offshore and onshore oil & gas, and nuclear power.

This role offers the chance to lead ground engineering efforts on challenging projects. We seek motivated individuals eager to develop in a dynamic, rapidly evolving industry.

Requirements:

• Proven track record as a geotechnical or senior geotechnical engineer with project management experience.
• Mentoring skills for junior engineers.
• Degree in civil engineering or geology with postgraduate qualification in geotechnics; chartered status as a civil engineer or geologist.

Candidate Profile:

• Strong academic background, ideally MSc or higher.
• Chartered professional status.
• Experience in fast-paced engineering consultancy settings.
• Project management skills, client relationship management, and commercial awareness.
• Design experience with numerical software (GeoStudio, Repute, Wallap, etc.).
• Knowledge of CDM regulations in ground investigation environments.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and report-writing skills.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas; valid UK driving license.
