Job summary

Elite Hire is seeking a geotechnical engineer to design foundations and manage ground investigations in the UK. You will plan boreholes, trial pits and lab testing, interpret data and prepare Ground Investigation and Geotechnical Design Reports.

You will design foundations, retaining walls, slopes and earthworks to Eurocode 7; perform settlement, bearing capacity and slope stability analyses; advise clients and support site work during construction.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology.
• 3+ years in geotechnical design or ground investigation.
• Knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK ground investigation practice.
• Experience with Plaxis, Slope/W or Oasys.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise ground investigations, including boreholes, trial pits and lab testing.
• Interpret ground data and write Ground Investigation and Geotechnical Design Reports.
• Design foundations, retaining walls, slopes and earthworks to Eurocode 7.
• Carry out analyses for settlement, bearing capacity and slope stability.
• Advise clients, designers and contractors on ground risks.
• Support site work during construction.
