Job summary

Elite Hire is seeking a geotechnical engineer to design foundations and manage ground investigations in the UK. You will plan boreholes, trial pits and lab testing, interpret data and prepare Ground Investigation and Geotechnical Design Reports.

You will design foundations, retaining walls, slopes and earthworks to Eurocode 7; perform settlement, bearing capacity and slope stability analyses; advise clients and support site work during construction.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology.
• 3+ years in geotechnical design or ground investigation.
• Knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK ground investigation practice.
• Experience with Plaxis, Slope/W or Oasys.

What you need

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related subject; an MSc in geotechnics is an advantage
• 3+ years in geotechnical design or ground investigation
• Good knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK ground investigation practice
• Experience with analysis software such as Plaxis, Slope/W or Oasys
• Full UK driving licence and a CSCS card, or able to get one

Nice to have

• Contaminated land assessment experience
• Infrastructure experience (highways, rail or flood defence)
• Chartered status (CEng) with ICE or the Geological Society, or working towards it
