Job summary

BWB Consulting, recognised for excellence in geotechnics, is seeking a driven geotechnical engineer to join our growing team. You will deliver high-quality solutions from concept through construction and lead technical input on UK and international projects.

Bring a Master’s in geotechnical engineering, 2+ years in consultancy, and a track record of managing ground investigations. Travel, site-based work, and a full driving licence are expected. Chartered progression supported.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in geotechnical discipline.
• 2+ years of consultancy experience and working toward Chartership.
• Experience managing & supervising ground investigations.
• Working knowledge of UK design codes (including EC7).
• Strong communication & MS Office skills.
• Willingness to travel and engage in site-based work.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality geotechnical solutions from concept through to construction.
• Lead technical input across projects in the UK and internationally.
• Desk studies, ground investigations, and site supervision.
• Geotechnical analysis and design (foundations, retaining structures, slopes, earthworks).
• Reporting, risk assessment, and solution-focused engineering.
• Regular site visits and short periods of site-based work.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a key role in a growing, energetic geotechnical team – getting hands-on and leading technical input across exciting and diverse projects in the UK and internationally.

Your Work Will Span The Whole Project Lifecycle, Including

• Desk studies, ground investigations, and site supervision
• Geotechnical analysis and design (foundations, retaining structures, slopes, earthworks)
• Reporting, risk assessment, and solution-focused engineering
• Regular site visits and short periods of site-based work
