Job description

Ian Farmer Associates is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join their team based in Glasgow. They are recruiting senior Engineers with at least 1 year of industry experience. This is a permanent, full-time role.

Ian Farmer Associates, part of RSK Group Ltd, specializes in geotechnical and geo-environmental site investigations with offices across the UK. Supported by a UKAS-accredited laboratory and the Geosciences division of RSK, it is one of the UK's leading site investigation service providers. Currently, they have immediate openings for Engineering Geologists in Hemel Hempstead and Washington.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervising ground investigation crews (cable percussion, rotary, window sampling)
• Logging soil and rock samples to BS5930 / Eurocode 7 standards
• Monitoring groundwater and gas levels
• Producing Phase 1 Desk Studies
• Assisting in preparing Factual and Interpretive Reports

Person Specification:

Ideal candidates will have:

• A degree in geology or earth sciences, or a master's in engineering geology or geotechnical engineering
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good time management skills
• A full UK driving license
• Willingness to travel and work away from home
• Proximity to the office or willingness to relocate
• CSCS Card & First Aid Certification
• SSSTS qualification
