Job description

Geotechnical Analyst – Ground Engineering

A specialist piling and ground engineering contractor is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Analyst to undertake designs and analyses for tender and contract purposes. The role also involves leading and maintaining technical excellence internally and externally, providing technical support and training as required. The candidate will have specific responsibilities for undertaking numerical analyses and developing design tools to support the Ground Improvement discipline.

The role will be initially based in the NW regional office with a flexible working arrangement that includes working from home, site, and office.

Main duties include:

  1. Preparing competent and competitive designs for piled foundations, ground improvement schemes, and contiguous embedded retaining walls.
  2. Undertaking design and contributing technically on larger, more complex engineering projects, working both independently and as part of a team.
  3. Producing design reports for projects, up to CAT 3 checking level.
  4. Liaising with clients to ensure designs are compliant with Eurocode/BS standards and meet Scheme Engineer’s performance specifications.
  5. Collaborating with site and operations teams to ensure correct execution of designs. Providing technical input for NCR remedial works as needed.
  6. Contributing to research and development within RBL.
  7. Supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers with design and technical queries.
  8. Creating presentations and documentation to facilitate learning and development across the business.
  9. Troubleshooting site occurrences and helping to establish design policies for RBL.
  10. Improving design spreadsheets and procedures.
  11. Staying updated with current design standards and approaches.
  12. Supporting team members to ensure design standards are followed and meet project requirements.
