Job summary

NLP PEOPLE is seeking a Machine Learning Scientist to join the Science Team in Guildford, UK. You will develop models from classical statistics to deep learning to transform satellite and radar observations into actionable insights on commodity supply chains.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in machine learning, especially with geospatial data, and will work on projects that include forest degradation estimation and biomass forecasting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of applied machine-learning experience, ideally in industry.
• Hands-on experience training and evaluating ML models.
• Expertise in geospatial Python tools like rasterio and geopandas.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and evaluate ML models for commodity mapping.
• Partner with Engineering to implement scalable inference pipelines.
• Produce trusted QA artefacts for internal teams and clients.
