Job Description

BirdsEyeView is an InsurTech company based in London, specializing in Natural Catastrophe Modelling software for reinsurance and insurers globally. The software helps model floods, wildfires, cyclones, and more.

The role involves supporting the development of the WEATHER ANALYTIX platform, which provides climate and weather analytics to insurance partners to assess exposure to natural disasters.

You will join a team of scientists, developers, and insurance experts, working on large climate and geospatial data, building new technologies, and gaining industry insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Support strategy and implementation of the WEATHER ANALYTIX platform.
• Process meteorological datasets, including collaboration with the European Space Agency.
• Develop models for wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, lightning, earthquakes, and floods.
• Collaborate with Business Development to define and deliver new products.
• Implement technology solutions to meet needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 2+ years experience for Junior/Mid role, 4+ years for Mid/Senior role.
• Proficiency in Python and working with geospatial data.
• Knowledge of statistical/data science techniques.
• Understanding of web systems architecture.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively.

Nice to Have

• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, AWS.
• Experience with ERA5/Climate Data and MLOps.
• Knowledge of the insurance market.
