TRE ALTAMIRA is seeking a Geospatial Analyst as part of our Geospatial Solutions team for our CLS Oceania office in Melbourne, Victoria. The position is part of our international team and will report to the Vancouver office. We are looking for a mid-to intermediate experience level.
In this role, you’ll apply your GIS, project management, technical knowledge, and communication skills to assess, visualize and manage large geospatial datasets for presentation to our clients. You will be the main technical point of contact for our Australian clients, write reports and present results in online or in-person meetings.

What You Will Be Doing
- Using ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro software, internal tools and scripts to critically assess InSAR data sets and perform quality control procedures to meet the needs of clients.
- Liaising with the data processing teams in the other offices to understand and improve InSAR data sets to meet internal standards and client expectations.
- Writing clear professional reports and presentations that incorporate critical thinking and spatial data analysis.
- Managing timelines, communication, and deliverables of multiple projects simultaneously with accountability to commitments.
- Providing outstanding service to build lasting, professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Working closely with the business development manager for Australia by attending technical conferences, client visits and assisting in the preparation of tenders and proposals.
- Using your coding skills to automate workflows, support other members of the Geospatial Solutions team and improve/maintain existing scripts.
- Using your resourcefulness to identify and manage spatial datasets (e.g., geological data, optical imagery, existing maps, etc).

Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro software.
- Tertiary education in Geology, Civil, Geotechnical or Mine Engineering, Geomatics, or other related disciplines.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Strong communication skills, including technical report writing, presentation skills and fluency in written/spoken English.
- A focus on client satisfaction.
- Demonstrated ability to manage client interactions and deliver client presentations.
- Applied scripting skills (e.g., Python) with a demonstrated ability to automate work processes.
- Knowledge of remote sensing.
- Competency with Microsoft Office (including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Google Drive suites.
- Full legal working status in Australia.
The following skills are an asset
- Geological, geotechnical, or engineering background.
- Industry experience in mining and/or oil & gas and/or civil engineering sectors.
- Knowledge of Project Management principles.
- Knowledge of InSAR.
- Knowledge of Matlab.
- Knowledge of surveying technique.
- Additional languages in French, Spanish, Italian to interact with our other offices.
