Job summary

Arup’s UK geospatial team combines geography, data and digital technology to help clients understand places, make informed decisions and deliver better outcomes for the built and natural environments. Graduates join a multidisciplinary team, contributing to projects from early options through to design, construction and operation.

You will collect, manage and analyse spatial data, create maps and visualisations, and develop repeatable GIS workflows while collaborating with engineers, planners

Qualifications

• An undergraduate or bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, such as Geography & Geospatial Science, Digital Engineering or Data Science / Engineering.
• An understanding of GIS and spatial data concepts; Ability to undertake spatial analysis and produce clear maps or visualisations; Ability to work with data, including organising, checking and interpreting datasets.
• Basic experience of at least one desktop GIS application, such as ArcGIS Pro or QGIS; Ability to explain technical information clearly; Willingness and ability to learn new digital and geospatial tools.

Responsibilities

• Collect, manage, assure and analyse spatial data to support multidisciplinary projects and evidence-based decision-making.
• Create clear maps, dashboards, applications and other visualisations that communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support the development of efficient and repeatable geospatial workflows using GIS, data engineering, scripting and automation tools.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, planners, environmental specialists, designers and clients to understand requirements and turn them into useful spatial insights.
• Contribute to innovation, technical standards and continuous learning while developing experience across different projects, sectors and geospatial specialisms.
