Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  2. Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  3. Punctual and reliable
  4. Teach classes allocated and provide a well-planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  5. Develop an approach to self-directed learning, using technology to support learning
  6. Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  7. Set homework and mark promptly
  8. Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  9. Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  10. Respond to questioning

Preferred skills:

  1. Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
  2. Strong classroom management
  3. Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour
  4. Be an inspiring and engaging communicator
  5. Use imagination and innovation to enhance the learning experience

Personal attributes:

  1. You will have a genuine passion for teaching
  2. Experience up to key stage 3/4
  3. QTS/PGCE equivalent
  4. Be flexible and committed
