Job summary

TeacherActive is currently partnering with several mainstream secondary schools in and around Wakefield seeking a dedicated Geography Teacher to support students across KS3/KS4. The role offers day-to-day or long-term placements with an immediate start, focusing on engaging lessons, GCSE/A Level preparation, SEND adaptations, and strong classroom management.

Job description

TeacherActive is proud to be working with several mainstream secondary schools based in and around the Wakefield area, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Geography Teacher to support students across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4. The schools provide a mainstream learning environment where students with a range of abilities and additional learning needs are supported to access the secondary curriculum.

The schools are looking to take on an enthusiastic Geography Teacher for day-to-day or long-term work, with an immediate start available. The successful Geography Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging Geography lessons, supporting students with GCSE and A Level preparation, adapting learning activities to meet SEND needs and maintaining effective classroom management.

The successful Geography Teacher will have:

• A PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status / QTS


• Experience teaching Geography across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4 in a UK secondary school


• Strong subject knowledge and experience supporting students with GCSE and A Level Geography


• Experience adapting teaching and learning to support students with SEND


• Excellent classroom management and communication skills


• A positive, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to teaching
