Job Title: Geography Teacher
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000 – £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time/Permanent

Are you a passionate and knowledgeable Geography Teacher ready to inspire young minds in the world around them?

GSL Education are looking for a passionate Geography Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Portsmouth. This is a fantastic full-time, permanent opportunity starting in September 2025.

We welcome applications from QTS-qualified teachers, Early Career Teachers (ECTs), and overseas-trained educators who are ready to inspire students with the wonders of the world around them. We also encourage interest from experienced Teaching Assistants (TA) or Cover Supervisors (CS) looking to transition into teaching, provided they have relevant subject knowledge and experience.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Deliver high-quality Geography lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Create engaging learning experiences that promote critical thinking and environmental awareness.
• Adapt lessons to support diverse learning needs and encourage all students to participate
• Assess student progress effectively and provide meaningful feedback.
• Contribute to a positive and supportive school culture through collaboration and innovation.
• Inspire a curiosity for local and global geography in the classroom.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT) – essential.
• Relevant experience teaching Geography in a secondary school setting.
• Overseas-trained teachers are welcome to apply if eligibility to teach in the UK is met.
• Strong subject knowledge and confident classroom management skills.
• A CV covering the last 10 years, with any employment gaps clearly explained.
• An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or a willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
