Job summary

The Avon Valley School & Performing Arts College is seeking an inspirational Subject Leader for Geography to lead the department, shape curriculum and raise standards across Key Stages 3 and 4. A proven geography teaching track record and QTS are essential, with leadership experience desirable.

Qualifications

Qualified teacher with QTS and proven geography teaching excellence.
Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop staff.
Experience in curriculum design and driving improvements across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: set a clear vision for the geography department aligned to the school improvement plan.
Curriculum Design: lead the design and delivery of a rigorous geography curriculum across KS3/KS4.
Teaching Excellence: model outstanding practice and support colleagues through mentoring and professional development.
Fieldwork & Enrichment: oversee fieldwork and enrichment activities to bring geography to life.
