Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Geoenvironmental Engineer to join a growing team delivering ground investigation, contaminated land and environmental consultancy projects across Oxford and surrounding areas.

You will develop technical expertise on a varied portfolio including residential, commercial and infrastructure developments and contribute to desk studies, site investigations, reporting and client liaison.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Geoenvironmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in geoenvironmental consultancy, contaminated land assessment or ground investigation.
• Knowledge of Phase 1 and Phase 2 investigations and UK guidance.
• Strong technical report-writing, communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive approach, able to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Full UK driving licence would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Undertake and support Phase 1 Desk Studies, Preliminary Risk Assessments and Phase 2 intrusive site investigations.
• Conduct site visits, soil and groundwater sampling, and ground investigation works.
• Prepare factual and interpretative reports, including contaminated land assessments and risk evaluations.
• Support the assessment of ground conditions, contamination risks and remediation requirements.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, laboratories and other project stakeholders.
• Assist with the preparation of technical proposals, project scopes and cost estimates.
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with relevant environmental legislation, health and safety requirements and industry guidance.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Geoenvironmental Engineer to join a growing team delivering a range of ground investigation, contaminated land and environmental consultancy projects across Oxford and the surrounding areas.

This role would suit a Geoenvironmental Engineer looking to develop their technical expertise and gain exposure to a varied portfolio of projects, including residential, commercial and infrastructure developments.
