Job description

The Geo-Environmental Site Technician will be working for a company that specializes in remediation, earthworks, and sustainable land regeneration, as well as the supply of recycled and primary aggregates. This role will focus on subsoil reuse and waste removal from the construction industry.

The Geo-Environmental Technician will be responsible for ensuring quality and compliance, while enhancing the company's reputation for quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background, a professional demeanor, and willingness to work on-site. Previous experience in geotechnical testing and an interest in technical oversight and quality assurance for large-scale earthworks projects are essential.

  • Capturing crucial data at key project milestones
  • Managing geotechnical and geoenvironmental data sets
  • Checking data against site-specific criteria and standards
  • Reading, interpreting, and understanding earthwork specifications and industry standards
  • Supervising and managing onsite data collection
  • Liaising with third-party testing agencies
  • Contributing to project compliance and quality assurance teams
  • Scheduling testing and maintaining records
  • Handling purchasing activities
  • Performing in-house sampling as required

Minimum requirements:

  • At least a 2nd class degree, HND, or equivalent in a geotechnical, environmental, or scientific discipline
  • CSCS / NPORS cards
  • Knowledge of geotechnical and geoenvironmental data sets
  • Analytical skills for scientific data manipulation
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand earthwork specifications and standards
  • Practical understanding of site work and testing/sampling timings
  • Report writing and IT skills (MS Office)
  • Valid driver's license
