Position

Shape Sustainable Land Use & Development with Ayesa

Ayesa is seeking a Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our growing Environmental and Geotechnical team. You will contribute to a variety of brownfield redevelopment, land contamination, and geotechnical risk assessment projects across the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver technically challenging and rewarding work, involving site investigations, risk assessments, and remediation strategies, while contributing to the regeneration of land for future development. You'll also play a role in mentoring junior engineers and ensuring projects meet regulatory, financial, and technical targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver brownfield land assessments and ground investigations
  • Interpret and manage geotechnical and contaminated land risks in project delivery
  • Prepare Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3 environmental and risk assessment reports
  • Design and validate site remediation strategies; supervise remediation and verification works
  • Deliver Human Health and Controlled Waters Generic Quantitative Risk Assessments (GQRAs) and Gas Risk Assessments
  • Manage project tenders, pricing, and financial performance
  • Mentor and support the technical development of junior staff
  • Ensure clear and professional communication with clients, colleagues, and regulatory agencies
  • Write, review, and check high-quality technical reports
  • Ensure all work aligns with health, safety, and environmental best practices
Requirements

What You Bring

Experience & Qualifications:
  • BSc or MSc in Geology, Earth Sciences, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Approximately 2-6 years of experience in brownfield or geo-environmental engineering
  • Familiarity with UK and EU regulatory frameworks and environmental guidance
  • Proven experience managing site investigation works and remediation projects
Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical and contaminated land development risks
  • Demonstrated experience delivering technically robust ground investigations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement
