Job description

Travis Baker at RSK Group is recruiting for a Geo-Environmental Engineer to join the team based in Halesowen, Birmingham. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Geosciences team provides consultancy and design services to clients including engineers, house-builders, oil companies, and local authorities. Due to growth and new projects, Travis Baker needs an experienced Geo-Environmental Engineer to support a varied workload. Details of the position are as follows:

Responsibilities:

• Participate in geo-environmental projects for external clients and internal teams
• Assist with ground investigations and desk studies
• Conduct soil logging according to UK standards, including laboratory scheduling
• Perform soil sampling and water monitoring/sampling
• Write factual and interpretative reports
• Geotechnical reporting experience is beneficial
• Knowledge of contaminated land legislation and reporting
• Travel within the UK to other offices and sites as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

• BSc or equivalent in Geology, Environmental Science, or similar
• MSc is desirable but not essential
• Working towards membership of a relevant professional body with a goal toward chartership
• Basic knowledge of planning legislation
• Experience in site inspections and reporting, preferably on residential developments
• Ability to complete factual and interpretative assessments at a basic level
• Capability to deliver projects within a multidisciplinary consultancy
• Effective time and resource management skills
• Full UK driving license
