Job Description:
Due to continued growth, my client is looking to expand their geo-environmental consultancy division.
In this role you will:
- Become part of a close-knit, dynamic team focused on delivering excellent results for clients;
- Discover the fundamentals of the geo-environmental industry, including contaminated land risk assessment and geotechnical design;
- Learn and develop professionally through practical, hands-on experience in the office and on sites across the UK;
- Participate in challenging projects across residential, commercial, and civil engineering sectors, with opportunities to manage projects through their entire lifecycle.
The ideal candidate:
- Is confident working both independently and in a team;
- Is self-motivated, proactive, energetic, and enthusiastic;
- Willing to develop skills in fieldwork techniques, data management, and reporting;
- Can apply commercial judgment to ensure value for money in projects.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Coordination, supervision, and management of ground investigations, including desk-based studies, intrusive investigations, monitoring, and remediation;
- Understanding geotechnical, geological, and environmental aspects of site investigations;
- Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained during fieldwork;
- Accurate recording and presentation of field data;
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and staff;
- Preparing reports, risk assessments, and recommendations;
- Assisting with report, drawing, and fee proposal preparation.
Minimum qualifications:
- First degree in Geology or related field, with practical modules including fieldwork;
- Full, clean driving license;
- Residence within easy commute to Manchester;
- Legal right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
