Job description

We are looking for an Environmental Consultant (Contaminated Land) to join our Environmental Compliance and Ground Engineering Team in London.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will be responsible for land contamination and environmental assessment projects, including carrying out site work and reporting.
  • Projects will be across a variety of sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial, energy and aviation.
  • You will be providing a range of services relating to environmental and land contamination management, including those relating to sales and acquisitions, planning, permitting and risk management.

The role is based in London but forms part of a UK-wide team undertaking projects across the country. You will be a team player, providing support to other members of the team as required.

You will be responsible for day-to-day management of site investigations, including setting up site works and carrying out site supervision and sampling as required. This may include borehole drilling, trial pitting, soil, groundwater and surface water monitoring and ground gas monitoring.

You will be required to carry out technical reporting of Phase 1 and Phase 2 geo-environmental reports, and other environmental reports as required.

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and driven professional with:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent, ideally with a post graduate MSc / PhD.
  • Relevant professional experience and ideally working towards Chartership with an appropriate professional industry group.
  • Experience of soil and rock logging, soil, groundwater and surface water sampling, ground gas monitoring, Phase 1 and Phase 2 reporting writing and proposal writing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
