Job description

The Vacancy

RSK Geosciences are recruiting for a Geo-Environmental Consultant to join the team based in Glasgow, UK. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Geosciences team provides consultancy and design services to a range of external clients including engineers, house-builders, oil companies and local authorities. Responsibilities:
  1. Running and/or supporting Phase I & II geo-environmental ground investigations for all scales of projects and types of site with senior support as necessary
  2. Undertaking site works using a variety of intrusive investigation methods
  3. Environmental Monitoring visits and reporting
  4. Incident response visits and associated reporting
  5. Soil logging to current UK standards, including laboratory scheduling
Qualification and Experience:
  1. BSc or equivalent in Geology, Environmental Science or similar
  2. MSc desirable but not essential
  3. Working towards Chartered status with a relevant institution
  4. Typically requires at least 2-5 years specific relevant experience
  5. An understanding of geology, ground investigation works, contaminated land, geotechnics
  6. Basic knowledge of planning legislation
  7. Able to complete factual and interpretative assessments to a basic level
  8. Able to deliver projects and work within a multi-disciplinary consultancy
  9. Track record in managing time and resources effectively and within budget.
  10. In possession of full UK driving license
