Job Title: Environmental Consultant / Geo-Environmental Consultant

Location: Midlands/South West

Salary: Dependent upon experience

Responsibilities
  • HSE Recruitment Network are recruiting for Environmental Consultants and Geo-Environmental Consultants to deliver environmental management plans, site audits, regulatory compliance support, incident response, and client/project management within the construction sector.
  • These roles will be focused on supporting construction and geo-environmental projects through environmental management plans, site audits, incident response, and regulatory compliance, alongside ground investigations, soil and water monitoring, contaminated land assessment, and technical reporting for clients and project teams.
  • Contributing to a wide range of geo-environmental projects for external clients and internal teams.
  • Assisting with ground investigations, desk studies and site inspections.
  • Carrying out soil classification and logging in line with UK standard, including scheduling laboratory testing.
  • Undertaking soil and groundwater sampling, as well as water quality monitoring.
  • Preparing factual data, interpretative reports, and supporting geotechnical assessments.
  • Applying knowledge of contaminated land regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Developing and implementing environmental management plans, including pollution prevention and surface water management plans for construction sites.
  • Conducting audits of construction sites to ensure compliance with environmental plans.
Qualifications
  • Degree (BSc or equivalent) in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • MSc advantageous but not essential
  • Progressing towards membership of a relevant professional body, with a view to achieving chartership in the future
  • Awareness of planning legislation
  • Experience carrying out site inspections and preparing reports, ideally within residential development projects
  • Capable of producing both factual and initial interpretative assessments
  • Ability to contribute to project delivery and operate effectively within a multi-disciplinary consultancy team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources efficiently, while working within agreed budgets
