Apprentice Environmental Role at RPS

RPS is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our environment team as an apprentice. The role can be based in Bristol, Abingdon, London, or Manchester. It is ideal for someone passionate about geology and contaminated land, interested in a mix of office and site work, and willing to travel.

We will support and sponsor the successful candidate through a relevant environmental degree course (part-time, with block releases for 6–10 weeks annually) over five years. The remaining time will involve supporting our geo-environmental teams in activities such as environmental and geotechnical ground investigations, monitoring programs, audits, and related tasks for our clients.

Your Role

You will work both in-office and on-site, engaging in activities such as:

  1. Environmental monitoring (water and soil sampling)
  2. Supporting ground investigation projects
  3. Preparing information and assessments for environmental desk studies
  4. Managing environmental data and familiarizing with industry software and data formats
  5. Conducting geological appraisals
  6. Working independently under supervision or as part of a team
  7. Assisting in preparing factual reports

The salary ranges from £161 to £334 per week (dependent on age), aligned with government minimum wage.
